Step 1: Lay both pieces of fabric on the floor with the WRONG sides touching. Carefully trim away any of the seam edges. This is also to make the edges of both fabrics match up. (I used the same pattern front and back for Olivia’s).
Step 2: With straight edges, cut a 4x 4 in square in each corner, cutting both pieces of fabric at the same time.
Step 3: Cut 5 in deep strips 1 inch apart on each side, again cutting both pieces of fabric at the same time. Tip: The strips of fringe don’t have to be exactly 1 inch, you can eyeball it, but just try to make them basically the same width and length.
Step 4: Once all of your fringe is cut, start tying hand knots. Grab a strip from the top and bottom and make a knot. Tie another knot, but make the second knot tighter. Repeat around the entire blanket and viola!
