Put Me Together

When Olivia was a few months old, I had her photos taken. While being extremely gorgeous, I thought about what type of project I wanted to do with the photos. Almost a year and a half later, I have yet to complete this project. Thanks to Hobby Lobby I found these finishing puzzles. In this tutorial I will teach you how to decoupage puzzle pieces with your favorite photo. Gather up all of your necessary materials.

You will need your pre-cut puzzle, a photo, in this case a 4×6 printed in black & white, Mod Podge, an X-Acto knife, and a foam brush. First you want to remove the puzzle pieces from the backing.

Next cut out your photo to apply they to the puzzle pieces. Using your X-Acto knife cut the photo so that it matches each individual piece.

Apply a layer of Mod Podge to each puzzle piece…

and then apply a layer to the back of each photo piece.

Next apply a layer of Mod Podge over the top of the photo. While that piece is drying repeat the steps for the remaining five pieces.

You can use your X-Acto knife to remove any overlapping pieces of paper after it dries.

To make the casing standout, paint it a contrasting color; I chose metallic gold to match the antique look.

Allow everything to dry, place the puzzle in a cute gift bag or box and wait to see the enjoyment when grandparents gets a look!!!!
